Odisha All Set To Welcome PM Modi On September 17

Bhubaneswar, Sept 15: Odisha is all set to welcome Prime Minister Narenra Modi on Tuesday. The Prime Minister will arrive in Bhubaneswar to launch Odisha government's flagship programme for women, 'Subhadra', on his birthday on September 17. 

According to soruces, preparations are in full swing fot the inauguration event. Thousands of women are expected to attend the event. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi along with his Cabinet colleages visited the programme venue, Janata Maidan and reviewed the security aspect today. 

About 70,000 women will attend the grand event. After the scheme is launched by the Prime Minister in the presence of the Chief Minister and other Ministers, women will get first Subhadra installment of Rs 5,000 tomorrow. 

Sources added that women who submitted applications by Sesptermber 15 will get the Rakshi Punima installment of the flagship scheme on Septermber 15. However, submission of application will continue and they will be given the first installment on later dates. There is no time limit for submission of application. 

Around one crore women aged between 21 and 60 years will get the support, totalling Rs 50,000 each, from the government in 10 installments in five years. Each installment of Rs 5,000 will be disbursed on Raksha Purnima and International Women's Day for five years.  

A tight security arrangment has been put in place for the Prime Minister's visit. As many as 11 officers of DCP rank, 22 Additional DCPs, 66 ACPs, 100 IICs, 300 other senior police officers will be deployed. The security personnel will include a large number of women staff as thousands of women will attend the event. 

Besides, ODRAF teams, two companies of CRPF, police in civil dress, dog squads will be put into service. The entire movement corridor from Airport to Janata Maidan and the event venue have been declared 'no drone zone/no flying zone' for safety propoes.
